Author: Muhamad Ahmad Hasyer, Joshua Belayan, Faizah Metali, Muhammad Saifullah Abu Bakar, Hayati Yassin Abstract: The rise in global temperatures has significantly impacted agricultural practices, challenging the growth and health of crops. As a result, research has increasingly focused on developing more resilient crops to secure food produc-tion. This study aims to investigate the effects of different light environments on the health of tomato plants and pest infestation activity. An Internet of Things (IoT) system was employed to automate data collection, integrating a pest trap system and a chlorophyll meter for monitoring plant health. The study compared pest attraction and plant responses under green, red, and violet light environ-ments. The results indicated that the green light environment attracted the highest number of pests, while red and violet light environments improved plant health, as evidenced by increased potassium uptake. These findings suggest that specific light environments may help optimize pest control and enhance nutrient absorp-tion, offering potential strategies to improve crop resilience in the face of climate challenges.
